**Content Warning. Sensitive Topics Discussed Below**

We are supporting the Sexual Abuse and Sexual Violence Awareness Week 2026 at the University of Leicester. This campaign takes place from the 2nd to the 9th of February 2026.

This annual campaign is an important opportunity to raise awareness around consent, sexual abuse and sexual violence, highlight the support available to survivors, and encourage open, meaningful conversations about how we can prevent harm within our community.

In line with our Dignity and Respect Policy and Senate Regulations 11, we all share a responsibility to challenge unacceptable behaviours and contribute to a safe, respectful environment for students, staff, and the wider University community.

What is Consent?

Sexual consent is where parties agree to take part in a sexual activity, by choice, and they have the freedom and capacity to make that choice. Consent can sometimes feel complex or confusing, particularly when navigating new experiences or engaging with new people.

The Standing Together Team have created resources to further your understanding of consent and how to give and receive this. This can be accessed via the Standing Together Sharepoint page on the 'recently created videos'.
